Start the new year off right!

We would first like to wish everyone a "Happy New Year" as we start 2009.

As we begin the new year, we would like to invite you to come visit and worship with us at James Avenue. We are starting the year off with a series on Discovering God which will help all of us understand who God really is and how He can be and is involved in our daily lives. This is a very difficult time for many people right now. Whether it be the economy, health problems, a bad relationship with your family, or even loved ones fighting in a way, we want you to know that we are here to help. We want to show you the comfort and peace you can have in your life from a relationship with God.

We are also very excited about a lot of activities that will be taking place this year at James Avenue. One of the most exciting events will be the 70th Anniversary Celebration of James Avenue. In the fall we will be having a Celebration Weekend as we look back and remember the history of James Avenue and the impact this congregation has had on so many lives. We will also be looking forward to the future and ways we can continue to spread the Good News to the community.

Please be sure you check back often to find out about upcoming events and more information on the upcoming Celebration Weekend. We look forward to having you worship with us!

Counseling Ministry is Back!

We would like to let everyone know that after a brief summer break, the Counseling Ministry is available again. If you could use an objective Christian friend to talk to, she has a warm personality, great people skills, and is very knowledgeable in her field. Whether you need grief counseling, help with depression, counseling for abuse, a family/relationship struggle, or some other need, she has the compassion and experience to help.

Also, if you know of someone in your family or have a friend who could benefit from meeting and talking with her, please pass this information on because that is what it is for - to help people through tough times.

All sessions are confidential, which is why you contact her directly by phone. Her number is 799-0093.
