We hope you find the website helpful in getting to know a little about our congregation. If you live in our area, or are ever visiting our area, we invite you to worship God and study His Word with us.
We have no formal credal statement, but we do affirm the confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and our personal Savior.
We believe that each individual has the freedom and responsibility to interpret the Scriptures.
We teach and encourage people to be Christians, and Christians only.
We have appointed elders who are spiritual examples and shepherds for our congregation.
We celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ every Sunday by partaking of the Lord's Supper.
We teach and practice open communion.
Each Sunday morning you can expect acappella singing, prayers, unison Scripture readings, communion, giving of our resources, and a positive Bible lesson of truth and application taught.

Youth Homecoming ... June 21
Youth Mission trip to Panama ... June 24 through July 1
A number of the youth here at James Avenue have been invited to participate in a week long community event with the Higueronal Church in Panama. In previous years, a group of evangelists would go with a team of Dr.’s and Nurses who hold free clinics around the church. As the people were receiving medical help, the evangelists would share the Gospel of Jesus with them. As of now, there is a beautiful church building that has been constructed that serves as the churches meeting place as well as a free clinic for the community. We will be helping out June 24 through July 1 with a 5 day community event at this church building centered on the Gospel of Christ. They expect that there will be hundreds of attendees. Not only will there be classes for all ages but there will be personal Bible studies going on as well for those interested in digging deeper and more personally into God’s word. We are really looking forward to this opportunity, and may God be glorified in all that we do! Brandon Folks
Youth Camp at Weeki Wachee Christian Camp (FL) ... June 8 through June 16
Weeki Watchee Christian Camp is a week-long summer Bible camp located on 20 acres along the Weeki Watchee River in Weeki Watchee, FL. Each summer a group of about 100 youth get together for a week long camp where they are taught the Bible by adults from a number of churches of Christ. The weekly activities consist of Bible classes, Chapel time, puppet shows, arts and crafts, split guys and girls swimming in the Weeki Watchee River, and group sports. It a great week for young people to take time away from their busy technology filled lives and escape to a camp in God’s beautiful nature to learn about and worship the amazing God that created this world.
