Thought for the week:

God's saving grace has appeared to all people.  It teaches us to say no to godless ways and sinful longings. We must control ourselves. We must do what is right. We must lead godly lives in today's world. That's how we should live as we wait for the blessed hope God has given us.

                                                                             Titus 2: 11-13 (New International's Readers Version)

After a brief hiatus, Y.A.C. News is back.

First of all, thanks for the prayers, calls, and encouragement during David's surgery and recovery. We love y'all!

We finished up our study on grief this past week. Now, we will spend a few weeks studying about the conscience. Here's a trivia question that I bet none of you young whippersnappers will know. What Disney character portrayed the conscience? AND for whom was he/she the conscience?  I'll have a fabulous prize for whomever sends me the answer first.

 UPCOMING EVENTS:

Sunday Night, April 6: Ladies Night Out after evening worship

TBD: Spring Cookout and Game Night

September 27-28 - Y.A.C. Fall Retreat in Gatlinburg. See Heather D. Cochran for details. She will need              commitments from those going by the end of this month.

CHALLENGE: From Sunday night's class

"Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present your requests to God and the peace that passes understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:7-8

What a great turn out we had for class Sunday night. It was especially nice to have Cassandra, John's sister (Please don't hold that against her), with us. I heard that the Y.A.C. men had some good food and fellowship at Calhoun's Sunday night. Ladies, our turn is coming up on April 6.

Don't forget our Y.A.C. Game night on March 15. More information will come later.

The Fall Retreat to Gatlinburg has been changed to September 26-28. Heather will reserve a chalet in the next few weeks. Let her know if you plan on coming.

A verse to challenge you: Every once in a while, I read the Message. I like this interpretation of Romans 12:1.

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

May we all embrace what God does for us this week.
